Sometimes we feel homesick for a place, even though we’ve never been there. Sometimes we just want to be anywhere but here. From kauko—faraway, and kaipuu—a yearning, the Finns know the craving for a distant land as kaukokaipuu (pronounced ka-oo-ko-kye-poh).
